Garland Appoints Bill Smithers as New Director of Customer Service
Mississauga, ON. - June 27, 2011 - Garland, a Manitowoc Foodservice company, is pleased to announce that Bill Smithers has joined the company as the director of customer service. In his new role he will be responsible for global customer and aftermarket service.
Smithers has held various senior positions in the service field, marketing, finance, and strategic project management and brings over 20 years of multinational business experience to his position. For the past five years at Garland he has been involved in several successful key account projects. In addition, Smithers has previously worked with leading companies such as GE Transport Systems as the manager of international service market development and with Camco (a subsidiary of GE) as vice president of after sales service.
Smithers holds a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Economics from Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. Smithers will replace Dale Kostick, Garland's previous director of customer service, who will be retiring at the end of June. Smithers will be based in Mississauga, Ontario.
